I have known Rey Leon since 2004 when he served as a founding board member of the
Central Valley Air Quality Coalition and since then in his wide range of
environmental justice, health equity, and transformative rural community
development initiatives. For these two decades, I have been inspired by Rey’s
bedrock commitment to community health and well-being, his focus on education,
mentorship and next generation leadership, his generosity with his time and
knowledge for the benefit of those in greatest need, and his innovations in green
technology, policy, and local empowerment. Rey is truly a product and a servant of
the people.
Conozco a Rey León desde 2004, cuando fue miembro fundador de la junta directiva
de la Central Valley Air Quality Coalition, y desde entonces en su amplia gama de
iniciativas de justicia ambiental, equidad en salud y desarrollo comunitario rural
transformador. Durante estas dos décadas, me ha inspirado el compromiso firme de
Rey con la salud y el bienestar comunitario, su enfoque en la educación, la
